Middletown Monthly Meeting was established out of Falls Monthly Meeting by Philadelphia Yearly Meeting in 1683. This meeting was known as "Neshaminy" until 1706. In 1827, at the time of the Hicksite Separation in Philadelphia Yearly Meeting, the meeting split into Hicksite and Orthodox branches. Middletown Monthly Meeting (Orthodox) was discontinued in 1862, and its members were attached to Falls Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). Wrightstown Monthly Meeting was established in 1734 by Bucks Quarterly Meeting out of Buckingham Monthly Meeting. The Orthodox branch of this monthly meeting was discontinued in 1833. Its members were transferred to Buckingham Monthly Meeting (Orthodox). The Hicksite branch was the forerunner of the current Wrightstown Monthly Meeting.
